Hannah, c  1903

Albert was the youngest child of William and Sarah and was born in Saltfleetby All Saints in 1848.  He married MaryAnn Bones of Timberland (born 18 March 1858) and together they had six children - all born in Horncastle.  Here begins the prolific 'Horncastle Connection' that endures down the years.

In 1881 the family was living at 4 Moore's Yard, Horncastle when the census records him as 'Alfred', and 'Mary' as 'Mary Ann'.  Interestingly, Albert's mother Sarah, by now a widow, also lived with them at this time but is no longer there in 1891 suggesting she had died in the interim and therefore presumably interred somewhere in Horncastle.  In 1901 Albert is working as a stockman on a farm at West Ashby.
