James was described, at the time of his marriage in 1805, as a bachelor of the Parish of Louth. There the trail ends I'm afraid.
He married Mary Orwell, spinster, in the Parish church of St Margaret in Thimbleby on 15th April 1805 in a service that was witnessed by Dickinsons (sic) and Walter Gibbons. There were ten known children of this marriage:
their first child was born two years after the marriage and was christened on 2nd August 1807.
was baptised on 27th August 1809.
christened on 2nd August 1812 at St Margaret's, Woodhall to where the family had now moved.

were twin sisters christened on 9th July 1826 but who died little more than a year later and were buried on 30th August and 16th August 1827 respectively, once again in St Margaret's Church, Woodhall.
was born, christened and buried all on 3rd August 1828. No further births or baptisms are recorded in the parish records.
James died in Woodhall in 1845 aged 65 and was buried in St Margaret's churchyard on 16th November. Mary is found living with her son George and his wife Ann at East Kirkby at the time of the 1851 census. Mary is described as being from Fulletby.
